Plot: While the entire world watches the largest meteor shower in 10,000 years, a rogue asteroid, hidden by the meteor field, smashes into the moon in a tremendous explosion of rock and debris. Fragments from the asteroid, and even from the moon itself, penetrate Earth’s atmosphere and make impact. Even though the initial damage is minimal, nerves are frayed throughout the planet. There is significant physical damage to the lunar surface, but experts quickly conclude there will be no lasting ramifications. Then strange anomalies begin to manifest themselves on Earth. It starts small - cell phone disruptions, unusual static charges and odd tidal behavior. The world’s leading scientists, including Alex Kittner, Maddie Rhodes and Roland Emerson, begin piecing together evidence that suggests the moon’s properties, and its orbit, may have been permanently altered. Their fears are realized when the anomalies increase to the point where the effect of “simulated” gravity is being manipulated by increased electromagnetic surges coming from the moon. Stationary Bike Good Substitute for Running?
I am in the Army National Guard for the great state of NJ. I was recently diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatters disease in my left knee, and the pain has been hindering my running ability. I run a 2-mile in a little less than 16 minutes, but it has gotten worse as with the condition of my knee. So to keep the impact off my knee and allow some "recovery" (Osgood-Schlatters is a generally permanent condition) I’ve been doing a lot of stationary bike training. My normal routine is an hour on the performance setting that simulates a lot of hills. It jumps from 6, 10, 14, and 16 resistance throughout and I always make sure to keep my heart rate at a 150 minimum, but usually higher.
Basically I want to know if this is helping improve, or at the very least sustain my running ability so I can knock out that 2 mile run every time my APFT comes around. My chain of command is working on getting me a P2 profile, but hopefully I can keep my cardio up and the actually running to a minimum, only when I actually need to, like during my PT test.

Any and all tips/advice is greatly appreciated


you should try swimming, when I almost broke my ankle from running 90 minutes nonstop every day for two months but running twice a day for an hour for two years I had some major serious injuries/addiction. My doctor told me while I recover, if I can’t sit still, to go swimming as it will take the pressure off the legs. Well I was a little upset because nothing is quite like running but then I took his advice and went swimming, you would think after running for two years you would have build up some lung capacity or endurance for swimming…I was ready to quit after five laps. It’s exhausting and its just as good as running and so is dancing. Good luck with whatever you’re trying to achieve…I still run every day but sometimes I wish I didn’t get so obsessive because now, my ankles hurt every time I do any kind of long activity.
