I took an HEB brand pregnancy test, the I I style. So when I took the test where the positive line is it had two thin lines on either side but not much color in the middle…is this a positive or just a fluke? I am going to test again but wanted to wait a few more days.

What should I do? Any advice appreciated!?
The horse I rode until recently was moved to a new barn and is now unavailable for me to ride anymore. My boyfriend works on a farm where the three horses are never used, and haven’t been ridden in three years or so, and they just basically live with the cows.
Well, since I do not have the money or parental support to own my own horse currently, the owner of the horses told me I would be able to ride them.
One of the horses has a leg problem, so that horse is out of the question. The bay is about five was trained for three months (or so I am told, exact length unknown) and when brought home from training she threw the rider off and hasn’t been ridden since. When I came to see her in the pasture this last summer, she came right up and seemed friendly.
The other horse, the gelding, is quite older, like twenty something, and runs away when you go to catch him. But I do believe he was ridden quite a bit. For me, trying to catch a horse is SO frustrating. The last horse I rode was impossible to catch even with grain.
So, supposed I do begin to work with any of the horses, should I just start out grooming them? At what point should I lunge them, and how do I even lunge properly? There really is not round pen or small pasture on the property, (across the road there is one I would be able to use) but it being currently winter I would be nervous leading it on the road…
Getting a trainer is really not an option, and I know someone with litte experience like myself shouldn’t necessarily be taking on a huge horse project, but I’m very dedicated!
The horse I rode before was given to the owner because "it was too much horse" for the previous owner. It was very spooky and would often take off and threw me off a few times, so I’m not scared to fall off and get back up on again. I just need advice on how to lunge properly and what I should expect with a horse who hasn’t been ridden lately.
You should expect the horse to bee really wild the first few days while he gets back into the groove. He might try to canter and not obey your commands at first but after some lunge training he should be fine. To luge a horse you need a lunging whip and a lunging cavesson. If there is not a cavesson available a halter will do. You will also need a lunge line. Clip the line onto the hole under the chin one the cavesson. Once this is done stand back and get your horse into a nice walk. Depending on the size of the horse you need to have a good circle. If he is a large horse you do not want him to be bending inward a lot as this can make him go lame.Be a generous circle creator! Hold your arms in a "v" shape with the whip pointed towards his hind quarters. You don’t actually hit your horse with the whip it is just there for authority. And in some cases if he does not go flick the whip and yell your up transition or to trot or walk on etc (without hitting him!) Stay in the same spot while pivoting around in one place. Once you are done with your lunging lesson drop the whip onto the ground and slowly pull him in with the line. While doing so praise your horse a lot and tell him he did a very good job. You always want to end on a good note. To get him used to working again i suggest you do this ever day for about 15 to 30 minutes before you mount and even if you are not going to ride and just want to get him used to being ridden and the commands. When you want him to do an up transition make your tone go up, and opposite for the down transition. Do not flick your whip every time you want him to do something, just when he is not listening.

It all started back to when I was 19. I was like any kid that age. And living in the city brought tons of fun along with my schooling. One night on the town, using a fake id, I ended up bringing home a girl who was a little bit older. Actually 28 at the time. Didnt remember her name the next day, but i thought hell, whatever, I am living the dream, right? Well I learned a important lesson that night. Dont do what I did. Two weeks later she shows up at my door to inform me that she is pregnant and I am without a doubt the father. Of course I didnt believe her. It sent me into shambles tho. My life did a huge 180 degree turn and for those who havent experienced something like that you really CANNOT imagine what its like. You really have no idea. So after some thought and sleepless nights, I ended up going to some pregnancy center to have a bunch of feminist doctors try and convince me that it is truely mine. Of course, I am scared and in defense mode and end up leaving that place extremely upset. I have no idea whats going on at this point. Some random lady says Im going to be a dad. WHAT THE FUCK. Any ways. its still kind of a trip. Some following days, she informs me that due to my lack of interest in the matter, she is going to move back to Kansas where her family is at for help and support raising the child. Oh ya, and she already has a 9 year old daughter who is along for the ride. Basically I said whatever, you are crazy and i dont believe you. We left on rocky terms. I wanted to put it past me, but it was eating me ALIVE. probably the longest nine months of my life. I became extremely depressed. I am 20 at that point but still am having troubles with excepting everything. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I have found myself out in the mid west for my grandfathers funeral. I drive to Derby fucking Kansas and do a DNA test. Sure enough. I have a baby boy. It wasnt to shocking for me at that point. That was just a story to help you understand what my true problem is. I will try to make it somewhat short.
Basically, I am the type of person who REALLY wants to do the right thing. I have the inner drive to be number one dad. I want to be there. I want to be in kansas helping my baby mom raise Gavin, my son. But then I think to myself, is this just guilt? Because thinking more and more about it, its not even about gavin at this point, its about how bad i feel that she has to just raise this child all by herself and not to mention she has another child already. She is a very self motivated person (from what i know of her which isnt very much) and she has done fine on her own, but the real problem here is, is it rational of me to move across the country (im in portland or) and try to get some job in some town where i know no one and nothing, and make a feeble attempt at a dad. Im fucking 21 years old, have no idea what i am going to do career wise and have only a little schooling. I think alot about this, but no one is in a situation like me that i know so its hard taking advice from people who dont know shit about how it feels to be in my boots. I want to help out, but i dont think its the best idea to make some crazy move like that. I have such torn feelings it haunts me everyday. I wish I was sterile haha. Dont get me wrong, he is a very beautiful baby and I know that I will not leave him. But im thinking in the now when i should be thinking in the future. I want to make sure his entire life is fulfilling, not just right now. I dunno.

I am a 19 year old with 2 daughters. One is 3 and another one is 10 months old. Me and my bf have been together for 5 years now. When we found out that i was pregnant we didn’t know what to do. He is a year younger than me and i knew that most young fathers don’t stick around. He did. My girls are both Daddy’s girls. I am not going to sit here and tell you what to do, but he knew what it was like to grow up with a Dad that didn’t stick it out with his mother. And he didn’t want to be like that. We live together and live like we are 2 30 year olds. Having a baby is the most wonderful thing you can ever do, im sure you heard this but just think, when he is 6 years old and he asks his mother where his Dad is and why everyone else in his class has a Daddy and why his isnt around, what is she going to tell him? I understand what you are going through as much as i can and i hope you listen to your heart. If nothing at least send him some birthday cards…..

In order to be a good dad to your son, you first must get your life together. Go to college, trade school, whatever, and start on your path to being a responsible adult. (not saying you are irresponsible)
You should not be feeling guilt over her having another child, you are assuming she has raised that child by herself. You are also assuming she has not gone on with her life and met or married another man.
You yourself state that you don’t know her very well. She was 28 to your 19. It almost sounds like you were taken advantage of.
Yes, it IS irrational to pull up stakes and move cross country when you don’t have a job lined up and you don’t even know if she wants you to be a part of her and your child’s life.
This is my advice to you. Get YOUR life together before you try to enter your sons life. In the meantime, you can set up a trust fund or college fund for him, contribute to it each month knowing that one day it will be going to him.
Lastly, give yourself a break. It is not many men that would want to do what you are wanting to do. You might even change your mind in a few years. You sound like a guy who wants to do the right thing. But you MUST take care of yourself first, or you will be worthless to your child.

Do you know, like blood work 100% that is your son? I’m more then happy to hear that you want to be there like a good day, but in our society people do move and have to do what is right for them. If this is indeed your son you need to take her to court and set up your rights as a parent. You shouldnt have to relocate or anything, but be there for him, im not sure how it works when parents live in 2 different states…
Jobs, money and stuff dont compare to just having dad in your life, perhaps you can even get 50/50 custody of your son? These are things to looking into.. i’m so proud that you want to have that with him, just find out your rights as a parent.

Son of Godzilla (1967)

Plot: A group of scientists are on tropical Solgel Island in the Pacific to conduct weather control experiments. Just before they begin, they find giant preying mantases measuring 25 feet tall called Kamakaras. My dogs eye scared me!?
I came home from work just a while ago and my dog jumped on my bed and I petted her and she looked at me and DEAR GOD her left eye is swollen, lower lid. I did some research, there isn’t ANY discharge what so ever her eye isn’t red, she isn’t losing fur/eyelashes. It doesn’t seem to hurt her, actually i know it doesn’t because she would scratch at it if it did. I got a hot towel, put it over her eye for a bit. Swelling went down slightly, then went back up. I iced it for a bit, but it went back up. Right now she is tired of me and is running around the back yard and wont come near me, I think it pissed her off.
Anyways. I did find a tick on the swollen area, small, not bloated. Since this area of skin is sensative, could it just be from the bite?
She is a one year old Great Dane.
I don’t have money to take her to the vet, if i did…I wouldn’t be asking for information on here, and if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all, cuz I love my baby girl, and she is a pampered little princess. I am pretty sure, since its not painfull to her, just gastly huge, that it will subside in a day or so.
oh and she has had a tickk below her eyes before and it didnt swell
She may be allergic to the tick saliva. I hope she’s vaccinated for Lyme disease, and also that she has not been infected with ehrlichiosis.

Will the White House People Actually Learn Anything from the Christmas Bomber Failed Attempt?
Has the USA Learned Any of These Things Since the Christmas Bomber Attempt?
Here are some things that perhaps we could have learned from the Christmas Bomber’s attempt to kill 300 people with explosives in his underpants. Which, if any, of these things do you think we may learn.
#1. To use a Google style system on a national security intra-net grid, which allows every word in a post to be indexed, and then allows all posts in the system to be cross-correlated based on incoming questions, like for example, just inputting somebodys name, or just the word "nigerian", or just the word "visa"
#2. That systems which have the capacity to get slack, become much more likely to get slack at major holidays like Christmas Eve, and that Al Qaida is so smart that they have figured that out, and are fully able to plan their attacks for our most vulnerable moments.
#3 That we need to start tracking potential America haters long before they do anything wrong. We need to have a list of potential enemies of the USA based on behavioral factors. This list would not be an accusation, or an indictment. It would just be sort of like a radar reflector tag, so if one of these people shows up at any security related event (like a flight), at least we know a bit about that person’s background.
#4 With shoe bomber and the underpants bomber both failing for lack of a proper detonator, it’s likely that Al Qaida now knows that most high explosives do require a blasting cap to set them off. Electronic blasting caps can be radio controlled. Al Qaida does know that, they don’t have to rely on Lonely Answers Club to learn it.
#5 The next aircraft bomber is probably going to carry the bomb tucked in to their intestines. Properly shaped and placed 3 oz of semtex would be very hard to see on a full body scanner. Al Qaida has such a scanner, so they could make sure the HE was invisible. Radio controlled detonators can be made of lightweight plastics and installed with the HE. 3 oz of semtex would blow a 747 out of the sky. Suicide bombers are there to die, so having the bomb inside their intestines is not a problem for them. For us it could be if we haven’t done any behavioral profiling and we have no idea who our enemies are likely to be (like the guys at the CIA camp had zero clue about who was their friend and who was their enemy).
#6 John Brennan has not tendered his resignation, or if he has Barack Obama has not accepted it. Both men are talking about general diffuse systems failures. Obama now says that all leads should be run down by some person who will be held accountable for doing so. Running down leads combined with an intranet Google style database of indexed notes would be a powerful way to find needles in haystacks. Somebody is putting queries in to a system that is designed to correlate previously unconnected data based on incoming queries. So dots get connected. The machine does it. It does the "analysis". Lead chaser just puts in the well-written queries. By the way Admiral Poindexter was fired from DARPA and the CIA for suggesting just this sort of data mining in real-time approach. Maybe the government owes him an apology.

Help with 68 Ford Mustang. Alot of help.?
Ok her goes I just got a 68 ford mustang with a 289 2 barrel nothing special it has a c-4 backing it the engine is in need of a complete Teardown and rebuild so is the tranny and a rear end conversion. First the 289 I want to make it a torque motor quarter mile and just to blow away some imports my questions with that is is there any stroker kit available for the 289 i see literally dozens for the 302 but it is my understanding the 302 and 289 components wont switch over. And if they will and i am misinformed is there a cheaper way to go about it. Then there is add ons carb cam intake I would like some fuel mileage not 45 mpg but a 15-20 would be very nice. Second I hear people talking about beefing up the tranny what does that involve its going to have get rebuild anyways so what a shift kit or new insides i am lost when it come to that stuff. Last is there any later model mustang such as a fox body with a solid rearend say 3.68 - 4.00 that would be a relativley easy bolt on affiar. I am going to keep the engine block the same as it is numbers matching. Any help would be greatly appericated I cant be the first to want to do this and I KNOW there is somebody with more infor then me. Any comments suggestions advice or info would be great.
If you are going to have to tear down and rebuild the 289 it would probably be easier and cheaper to just put in a 302 & you’ll get around 20 - 25 mpg as long as you are timed & tuned properly. You can still use the c4 tranny but you might want to consider going with a 4 speed standard transmission instead this will also help withyour mpg rating as far as the rearend you might be able to find say a 411 possi-trac that will work for you. Cool project man! I’ll try and help you out a little.
The 302 and 289 are actually in the same family of engines and most parts are interchangeable. A stroker kit for a 302 will also work for a 289. But if you want a stout performance engine, the more important thing than cubic inches is engine flow. The stock heads and cam in your 289 2-barrel definitely won’t flow enough to make high HP/torque numbers, so they’ll need to be replaced. The heads and cam that you choose depends on various factors like power goals, desired streetability, rpm range, etc. You can get over 400hp out of a pump gas 289. But if you want a high torque engine, than you probably want to go with a 347 stroker kit for it.
The best rear end to use is probably a Ford 9". They’re easy to find, tough, and have lots of aftermarket parts available.
There are lots of speed shops that beef up transmissions to handle more power. A stock C4 might be able to handle a stout 347 but not if you’re getting a solid launch. It’s always good to have peace of mind and beef up a trans that’s backing a high power engine.
Keep in mind that your budget has a lot to do with what you can mod and what you can’t.

Like Jefferson said, you ain’t gonna be smokin no ricers with that little 289 unless it was a K code which it ain’t. You will have to go to a 302 with 351 heads or just puta 351 Windsor with a bigger crank , cam headers, intake and carb. Put in a hi-stall converter and a shift kit and you will do OK, even if you’re running an open rear end. You might also want to consider a rotating assembly. If you are determined to keep that Mustang as a #’s matching car with that little 289, there’s really not much you can do. Even if you managed to sqeeze 400 HP out of it, you will still have no torque. And you gotta have torque, not HP to go fast. No domed piston will ever give you the compression of a flat-top. Domed pistons never produce the comp. ratio they advertise unless you got 50K into the engine and running on the blue bottle. Domed pistons are for ricers.

If it were me I’d yank the engine, trans, and rear end. Keep em so you would have them to put back in if you ever wanted to though. First I’d build the rear end. Either a 9 inch ford or a dana 60. It would have to be a posi and I have those on hand as well as a c-6 and stall converter. Then I have a boss 351 with roller cam and roller rockers, torquer intake, 750 holly, 13.5-1 domed pistons, double roller timing chain, headers,etc…lets have some real fun. Keep all orig parts cause it is a #’s match car.

go get a 347 cubic inch stroker motor from ford find a c6 tranny that will go behind it get ford 9 inch 3;73rear end that will go in stang forget carbs set it up with fuel injection and you should be in the 12s in the quarter mile easily

You can get up to 30 mpg if you use the 5.0 FI with AOD out of a 80’s Mustang or T-bird.
Using your 289/c4, you can get 20mpg with a RV cam, 600cfm Holley and headers with low restriction mufflers.

If you want to build a ricer-killer, then I would suggest sticking the 289 in a crate (especially if it’s the original motor) and either go pick up a 302 (or preferably a 351 Cleveland) that has already been built, or find one in a wrecked vehicle, pull it out, and build it.
Same with the transmission and rear-end.
The up-side of classic mustangs is that they are very easy to swap out the entire drive-train on. If you hunt junk-yards or e-bay/craigslist you could probably find a fairly low-mileage drivetrain for a few bucks, and slap the whole thing in it.
You don’t even have to stick to the traditional setups - with a little bit of modification, you can put nearly any rear-wheel drive setup into the body of the Mustang (it was heresy in the ‘tokyo drift’ movie, but they stuck a nissan drivetrain into a ‘66).
Make sure you do some reinforcing to the body - the only downside of the classic mustang is that they are early attempts at a ‘unibody’ - and don’t have a frame to speak of.
Most important (especially if you beef up the motor) is to put a cross bar between the shock towers. I’ve seen more than one just collapse under the weight of a massive engine. Some people go to the length of welding an entire frame (either beneath, or even inside) to prevent the body from twisting from torque.

Jefferson pretty much hit the nail on the head here already.
I would suggest getting a newer more powerful engine/transmission and rear differential. This will allow you more options for parts, more options for performance and will be a newer, more "reliable" powerplant. That could be a 302 or 352, whatever you wanted to use/could find for the best price. I would suggest looking up Early model Mustang car Forums and see what people are doing there. They will have the most experience/knowledge about swapping something like that.

Pick up a copy of this months (Dec 2009) Mustang Monthly magazine. They have an article on just what you want. A stealth small block that can be built with a 289 or 302 block and produces 418 HP with an original 750CFM factory Autolite carb. They used a 302 roller cam block, which is a better choice, but it can be done with a 289 block.
