Is this a good scene?
I’m debating on whether this scene in my book should be included. It’s NOT the cliche dream scene - as the protagonist is actually aware that it is a dream.
Also, I believe "he" is used too much. Any ideas on how to fix this and the scene’s other flaws would be welcomed.
The rose bore rigid, steely petals. He stroked his finger down one, and it blackened under his touch. As its colour was leeched, the petal crumbled away like ash.
In the dream, he wore a crown of rusted blades and nothing else, but he was alone. His hair was blonde again, plaited down his back in intricate ropes of gold. There was a slight breeze, and it plucked at the long bangs framing his narrow face.
His land sprawled for leagues, a mad tangle of iron thorn and silver rose. As he began to walk, the bushes scratched the prince

Who is the better musical genius, Superstar Michael Jackson, or Rockstar Axel Rose?
Axel Rose instruments include:
Vocals, Piano, Synthesizers. Percussion, Guitar.
His vocals were one of the most highest and powerful rock vocals of all time, not many can each his high notes. Axel Rose was a really great song writer having a mixture of punk, and classical poetry as a mixture to his writing.
Michael Jackson instruments include:
Vocals, Dance, Guitar, Piano, Beat Boxer, Drums, and Bongos.
Michael Jackson himself had high level vocals, at the same time had an amazing angelic powerful voice filled with emotion. His ability to dance rival dance masters such as James Brown. His Song Writing skills mainly were poetic, romantic, and even thrashing political and humanitarian songs, which involve RnB, Funk, Soul, Hard rock, and Hip-pop influences
Both amazing musician and influences, no one can ever replace them, and of course they can not be compared, but who over all has better vocals, and musical genius over all? Let’s not forget Axels song for Guns N Roses rebellious "Welcome to the Jungle", and sick ass metal balllad "Rocket Queen", and Michael Jackson’s Rocking Soul powered "Beat It", and Heavy hard riffed "Dirty Diana"
Please only specify and mention things that revolve music topic, nothing about their personal life, we all know what we here in the media, but, this is about talent, not about the things the Media lies about. Thank you!
.yea both are incomparable.. because each represented a different kind of music..i like axel rose and GnR is one of my fav bands of all time..and i am crazy abt November rain.and sweet child o ‘ mine…but as a musical genius and someone who shaped pop music like no other..i will definitely say Michael Jackson..
there is led zeppelin, the rolling stones , ac/dc and GnR ..i can compare them easily….
there is no one similar when i talk abt Michael Jackson…
edit: you asked specifically abt axel rose..but i cant separate him frm GnR . and abt the vocals…they have so different styles its unfair to say who’s better…
startinsmthin | Jan 27, 2010
They’re both musical genius’, but honestly… I think Michael Jackson was more
And I’m not saying that JUST because I’m a fan
It’s my honest opinion
Michael Jackson was a "once in a lifetime" artist

Would you put the artifact back?
If you dug up an artifact that was meant to be buried for eternity, would you put it back or suffer the inscription which warns anyone unearthing it will suffer great agony?
I would only put it back if that big ball started chasing me like it did Indiana.

Shane Mosley vs Joshua Clottey, who wins?
clottey clottey will win,……………….
Hey | Feb 04, 2010
Give’em soo much sugar, Joshy will get diabetes by the end of the fight.
Mosley all da way!
Mr.Rox | Feb 04, 2010
mosley takes it by unanimous decision or late stoppage
maurice | Feb 04, 2010
Clottley would win.
Hottest Chick | Feb 04, 2010
tough call. joshua wins by youth alone. mosley could just turn old on the ring. he has been inactive for a while. despite his win over margarito (on the same night his cheating was discovered), mosley is quite an old 39 year old by the end of the year.
Kahlil J | Feb 04, 2010
I think Mosley takes it by a close decision. The scoring would probably look similar to Mosley-Mayorga fight, before that last second stoppage.
Woody | Feb 04, 2010
Mosley UD.
High Oktane Killer Allstar | Feb 04, 2010
whats funny is pac fans know darn well that mosley will win that fight
they dont want to go on record admitting it…
because they know they will be admitting that floyd is facing better opposition
first floyd was scared to death of mosley and mosley will knock floyd out…..
now they say, "oh mosley is too old!"
americasfavoritethug | Feb 04, 2010
Clottey is another fighter Shane would look great against, Clotteys lack of speed would be his downfall to Shane, Clottey has never been in the ring with a fighter of Shanes expereince and ring smarts. Mosley will counter him till the cows come home. Mosley would stop Clottey in the late rounds, Ill say round 11.
Pacquiao will have a harder time with Clottey then Shane would , styles make fights and those styles mix perfectly for Shane.
View from the corner | Feb 04, 2010
The Boxing Promoters nightmare fight? Mosely beating Floyd and Clottey beating Manny?
I say that if Mosley maintains the level he was at when he beat Margarito, he beats Clottey because of higher volume of accurate punching.
Clottey won’t let him get in too many clean shots, but Shane nearly beat Winky Wright (the 2nd time around) who used the same style (probably more slick and effective than Clottey) only left handed.
I think Mosely would acutally be the stronger guy, which shocks big welterweights like Clottey and makes them uncomfortable. Mosely by UD, tough tough fight.
Peter H | Feb 04, 2010
Have to agree with View from the Corner. Against Mosley, Clottey has no advantage to press against him. At the very least against Pacquiao he can hope to use his size. Provided Mosley doesn’t grow old before our eyes, he’ll win this with a clear UD.

KILLER BACK PAIN WHAT DO I DO?
yesterday i was pulling up carpet and my back started hurting now i can move with out this shot of pain going up and down my back and legs i have try ed to take aspirin and it don’t do nothing i don’t know what to do i was thinkin try a heating pad or something like that if you have any suggestions let me know please thank you
It is difficult to say exactly what you have done. Back pain is always best to be examined by a licensed Professional. It sounds like you might have just pulled something or "tweaked" your back. I would try some ibuprofen or another anti inflammatory to take down any swelling. Use a heat pad and an ice pack. 15-20min with the heat then do 14-20 ice. Rotate this a few times. Make sure to get as much rest as possible.
If the pain does not go away, or gets worse in the next few days get into see your doctor. Many people suffer from back pain. The cause comes in all forms. Again its hard to say what you did since none of us are doctors, nor do we know the exact issue.
Take care, and take it easy

This problem is temporary & is fully curable without medicines. Yes you can use heating pad & apply some jell/cream ( pain reliever) for getting relief in pain but take precaution that applying any pain jell/cream for getting relief from pain do not use heating pad. Heating pad should always be used before applying cream. When you feel you are some comfortable you can do the yogasanas for curing the back pain. While you are suffering from back pain take following precautions—

 Sands of Oblivion (2007)
IMDB rating: 3.70
Plot: In 1923 legendary film director ‘Cecil B. DeMille’ (qv) finished the epic film _Ten Commandments, The (1923)_ (qv). After filming was completed, he bulldozed the sets into the Guadalupe Sand Dunes of the central California coast. Hi reasons for doing so were very mysterious. This story gives an explanation as to why he did it. There was actually a legitimate Egyptian artifact amongst the props but they didn’t know which one was trapping the spirit of an Egyptian avenging god. Mysterious murders and accidents while making the film brings things back to the surface today and it starts all over again.

I hit a rock in the bunker—what action to take???
While golfing this evening I landed in the center of bunker when I went to hit it out I drove my wedge straight into a huge rock that was buried in the sand directly below my ball. No kidding, the rock was a good 4×4x8" It killed my hands and shot my ball into oblivion but what I’m most ticked about is that it put a ding right on the blade of the wedge (brand new this winter). I took the rock and club to the guy at the counter and he said the course director would call me tomorrow. What I want to know is what do I demand for reimbursement as well as what legal grounds do I have to support those demands. The ding isn’t terribly bad, but from my point of view that is complete irresponsibility on behalf of the course and they at least owe me the value of my club $100.
Like any of you wouldn’t be ticked if you gauged your brand new club on a freaking rock that big …seriously when was the last time you saw any rock let alone on the size of a 20oz bottle in a sandtrap? Its not like I was hitting out of the woods or off a cart path or something.
It’s likely that the course has it posted that they are not responsible for equipment damages or injuries sustained on their property. I do find it a bit odd that you discovered a rock of that size in the bunker - with the number of teenagers playing now, many of whom will do crap like that to be funny (even though it isn’t) - I join with another answerer in wondering if someone planted it there.
You’ll be lucky to get a free round out of the deal - but you have no legal case against the course. Sorry.
kitchens68 | May 16, 2008
You will be at the discretion of the course director. No legal ruling will be made. Tact might be your best friend.
I understand your concern but that’s just one of the hazards(no pun intended) of the game. We’ve all damaged clubs. We’ve all skyed a tee ball with our new driver and marked the top of the club. Sh!t happens and you move on.
toughnottobeacynic | May 15, 2008
Suck it up and quit your whining.
It is a hazard of the course.
You should apologize for being anass
Edit: It is no worse than hitting a hidden root, stepping in a deep puddle.
You are hacked because you blew the shot and are willing to blame the course rather than yourself. By not being aware of your environment, you blew out your club.
tuffnuggies get over it

The Knights who say NI! … couldnt have said it better.. Thank You.
firefitter171 | May 15, 2008
Sorry Charlie!! You have no case !! One plays the course as he finds it. If there are hidden boulders in the bunkers and you hit one( I have ) that is called the " Rub of the green". One can hit a boulder or rock anywhere here in New England. Get a file and take out the ding.
googie | May 15, 2008
you are going to have to take this one on the chin. Sorry about your wedge. You can probably grind and buff out the gouge. The course management isn’t obliged, but may offer something if you are a good customer/member. I have played some municipal courses where the sand in the bunkers was more like asphalt than sand. Those are the breaks.
J C | May 15, 2008
Man……what a tough crowd. I sympathize with you. A rock that big hidden under the sand in a bunker??? Makes me wonder if some asswipe planted it there to be "funny" and raked the sand over the top of it.
Mizer | May 16, 2008
Dont expect much. If it happened at my course, I might throw you a free round, but thats about it. It would be your tough luck more than anything. I know thats not the answer you’re looking for but…..
gp | May 16, 2008
Not much you can do, you play at your own risk and rocks in bunkers (regardless of size) are common. I would however suggest that perhaps you patronize a different course.

When Yankee Stadium is gone, what will be baseball's hallowed ground?
Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, somewhere else? Opinions please.
let the arguement begin
Wrigley Field National League
Fenway Park American League
i wouls say Wrigley just because of the fans

Fenway for sure..lol.. but not if your a Yankees fan.
Newbi | Jul 14, 2008
there will be no more hallowed ground, yankee stadium had so many great moments, the most world series games, it’s not like "the greatest living ballplayer" where you just move down the line when someone dies, no more baseball will be played (by major leaguers) in the hallowed ground. [ersonally i think they should have built some sort of museum on the sight, where the history can live forever, people can come from all over to see it, and while were at it, they could add a few players every year, only the best of the best though, yeah that’s a great idea.

You already the 2 stadiums named already that I would have answered. But I would think that it would be either Fenway Park, or Wrigley Field, since they will be the 2 oldest stadiums in the MLB. But I couldn’t even idmange the Boston Red Sox moving from Fenway Park to a new stadium even with the same name, and the same can be said for the Chicago Cubs, I just can’t see them leaving Wrigley Field for a new stadium anytime soon.

Fenway then Wrigley. Is the way I see it. But the Boston New York rivalry is not going to be the same when played at the new stadium. Its not the house that Ruth built or the one that had so many things happen that made it a great rivalry. Like Boone’s homerun off of Wakefield in the playoffs.

ethoxyquin in Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul?
Does anyone know what the latest on ethoxyquin in Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul to preserve fish meal is still being used?Last I read on dogfoodanalysis.com said it’s ethoxyquin free but that was back in 2006.Did they go back to using ethoxyquin?I know that Diamond Pets have many recalls and I am aware of that.I got a sample of Chicken Soup for my dog but I want to be sure that it doesn’t contain ethoxyquin first.
@cookie:thank you.i will do that.
Dog food manufacturers are not allowed to put ethoxyquin in their foods as a preservative anymore, since so many illnesses were reported. However, if ethoxyquin is in a product that is bought to be used by the manufacturer of the dog food already, it is allowed. How to know? Contact the manufacturer and find out if all ingredients are used from only the United States. So far, that appears to be a safe method of determining whether ethoxyquin is in the food or not.
If the manufacturer will not discuss this with you, or hedges on the question, my advice is to not use their food.

Did you hear about the kid who hitched a ride on an airplane?
I heard this kid in Moscow ran away from home, hitched a ride on the exterior of 747, held on when they took off, they were going 600 MPH and the wind chill was -60. When they discovered him and landed the plane his arms and legs were frozen and the docs couldn’t believe that he lived through it. Have you heard of this?
A 15-year-old boy from the Urals suffered acute frostbite after riding the wing of a Boeing-737 plane on a two-hour flight from Perm to Moscow…. the airport didn’t confirm this story but some other agency did…. so maybe it’s true or maybe it’s not.
I’m too much of a pessimist to believe it and I’m also a pilot and can’t imagine anyone surviving the outside elements of a 2 hour ride

There is absolutely NO WAY this could be possible.
First, how the hell would someone hold onto the wing of a plane at 600 mph? Second, the plane would be so high in the air that the air would have been so think and the lack of oxygen would have made him lose consciousness. Its just impossible.
Ever notice there is never anyone to verify these stories?
Its a urban legend.
