help with silencer?!?
I am making a suppressor for my air gun because it is too loud to shoot in my back yard.so i got the suppressor done but im trying to figure out how to be able to attach it to my airgun. my gun has front sights. can anyone help me?
i live in california and im trying to fit the silencer into my benjamin discovery its stock without modifications. i only use it for pest control. i have a golpher and rat problem.
but the rat and golpher problem is in my 15 acre property in mexico. so the silencer will not stay here in cali.im going back to cali in a couple of months.
You do not say what kind of air rifle you are using, or what the barrel looks like. If there is no room on the barrel in front of the sight, then the sight can be moved back or cut down. The barrel can be threaded to attach the silencer or you can make a clamp.
You do not say where you live, but if you are in the USA, you need to have a license to make silencers or obtain ATF authorization and pay a $200 tax for each one first. The license is much more expensive. It does not matter if the silencer is intended for an air rifle or if a real gun would destroy it with one shot. If it is capable of lowering the noise of a firearm at all, then it has to be registered and the tax paid or license obtained before making it. So if you live in the USA and did not pay the tax, then you need to destroy it and make it again legally.
Silencers are only really effective on firearms or air rifles with pre-charged reservoirs. Spring powered air rifles have more action noise than muzzle noise so a silencer does little for them.

What do you think of black girls who prefer white guys?
So I just watched A Bronx Tale and now I’m like in obsessive mode lol
I have dated interracially for like forever, but I never thought of myself as "preferring" white guys. It just so happens that most of the guys I connect with on that level are white. Plus the white boys I date are mad cute. lol I danced with a mixed guy at the club once but thats as close to black as I have gotten.
I have noticed that some black girls who actually claim to prefer white guys go on about how terrible black dudes are. That annoys me. I mean if you find them more attractive fine just say that don’t result to degrading stereotypes and perpetuating hate. I am dating a white guy (of course) now but I don’t talk trash about black guys to him and if he has any frustrations about black guys we talk about it. He never does though, he just isn’t like that.
I have a couple girlfriends who do that and I always tell them that they are wrong but I cant change them. I know this one girl who is absolutely gorgeous (she reminds me of naomi campbell) but the things she says make her ugly sometimes. She says all black guys are horrible lovers, in jail or broke, dead beat fathers, and the "lowest point she could ever touch." I think for her it’s personal because her mom was treated horribly by her father and two black men after that, but I still think you have to separate your experience from opinions on entire races.
Miguel I don’t see how youre getting on my back. I have not generalized black men here so how do I need to "get real?" I just date outside of my race. Has nothing to do with stereotypes or anything. Check yourself.
i saw A Bronx Tale, too, so i know what you mean when you said you got "that feeling" when you watched it. Ha, ha. Yeah, it had Robert Deniro in it so you know the whole "black female, Italian American male" love story had to unfold. I feel like seeing it rigft now actually. You’ve got me in the spirit again:)

Race isn’t really an issue for me, but if a black girl decides she likes me I am usually very happy about it. There are a couple I know who are really sweet and fun to be with. I think almost any guy would like them.

Don’t let the people who say you are a self-hater bring you down. Also, not all white guys are great of course. Not all black guys are perfect either. There’s idiots everywhere and we’ve all experienced different things. If you prefer white guys then that’s nothing to be ashamed of.
tessa | Oct 06, 2009
i like white guys i have never dated 1 myself tho. latley i have been less mentally attracted 2 black guys and i will stop @ there because i dont like the whole thug image. if i find a black guy who isnt like that i’d date them tho. i dont bash black men . any man who acts like a thug , spanish black or white i wouldnt date them period.
ALLURING | Oct 06, 2009
That’s fine if you date out of your race. It’s good that you don’t put Black guys down though. I don’t see anything wrong with dating white guys, you should be able to date whoever you want. People who date out of their race and then generalize about their male/female counterparts should be careful though, because then they means they are putting down their own family members and if they have kids, them too.
lil' miss | Oct 06, 2009
i dont see anything wrong with it. if she likes them because of love, then thats fine, but if she wants them because she wants to bash black guys and is being ignorant of them, then im not fine with it.
i only approve relationships if they are honestly doing it for love, not ignorance or racism or what ever the case may be as such

Disgusting! Hello? We have a black president, a decent, educated, and
articulate man. But some will say, he’s half and half, and it is the "white" half that is predominant, in his character.
I’m also bi-racial, but I know "decent" men who are kind, warm, educated, and family oriented-and by the way, these are African American men. Your ignorant friend is blind to her own history, if Fredrick Douglas, Martin Luther King, Thurgood Marshall, and Muhammed Ali were all thugs, "just to name a few", she’d be a Naomi Campbell look alike, riding home on the back of a bus, after picking cotton on a plantation. The both of you need to "get real", assholes
come in all colors, shapes and sizes.

I get that people have preferences, maybe a white girl will date a white boy but she prefers to date asian guys. That’s fine with me, I understand.. (:
However - I’ve always found it very odd when people say point black that they would not date and are not attracted to people of their own race - in effect, is that not saying that you find yourself to be unnattractive? It somehow reeks of self hate to me..
I’m not referring to you, just to the masses in general..
(:

I don’t care. People can and should date who they want.

i like white guys alot but i wouldnt just date them only.I thin everyone should be open to all races…
Tenaya P. | Oct 06, 2009
your freind is wrong
im black..well mixed..but i consider myself black..anyway..i have dated outside my race.ive dated asians and whites but i mainly date blacks.my current boyfriend who is black has been better then all the boyfriends ive had so far
it depends on who it is..some black guys are terrible bfs others are good ones.theres nothing wrong with dating outside your race but maybe you should try dating a black guy and see how it goes.
nicky | Oct 06, 2009
Who cares if they do!!!
Hmmm… | Oct 07, 2009
Hey there. It’s your personal preference and I think it’s all cool. I have a few black girls after me and I love them for their personality! It’s amazing when you start talking to someone and are extremely nice then you fine them even more attractive. : )
The one girl I’m talking to is very cute. Anyone should date who they want. Everyone has their own attractions. Good luck and I’m ashamed on people for judging others due to race/culture. It’s just wrong. We all need to respect each other.

10 points for best answer?
what does this sentence mean in the story an occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge?:
Their movements were grotesque and horrible, their forms gigantic.
here is the story..
The sentence is in Bold
A man stood upon a railroad bridge in northern Alabama, looking down into the swift water twenty feet below. The man’s hands were behind his back, the wrists bound with a cord. A rope closely encircled his neck. It was attached to a stout cross-timber above his head and the slack fell to the level of his knees. Some loose boards laid upon the sleepers supporting the metals of the railway supplied a footing for him and his executioners–two private soldiers of the Federal army, directed by a sergeant who in civil life may have been a deputy sheriff. At a short remove upon the same temporary platform was an officer in the uniform of his rank, armed. He was a captain. A sentinel at each end of the bridge stood with his rifle in the position known as "support," that is to say, vertical in front of the left shoulder, the hammer resting on the forearm thrown straight across the chest–a formal and unnatural position, enforcing an erect carriage of the body. It did not appear to be the duty of these two men to know what was occurring at the center of the bridge; they merely blockaded the two ends of the foot planking that traversed it.
Beyond one of the sentinels nobody was in sight; the railroad ran straight away into a forest for a hundred yards, then, curving, was lost to view. Doubtless there was an outpost farther along. The other bank of the stream was open ground–a gentle acclivity topped with a stockade of vertical tree trunks, loopholed for rifles, with a single embrasure through which protruded the muzzle of a brass cannon commanding the bridge. Midway of the slope between the bridge and fort were the spectators–a single company of infantry in line, at "parade rest," the butts of the rifles on the ground, the barrels inclining slightly backward against the right shoulder, the hands crossed upon the stock. A lieu tenant stood at the right of the line, the point of his sword upon the ground, his left hand resting upon his right. Excepting the group of four at the center of the bridge, not a man moved. The company faced the bridge, staring stonily, motionless. The sentinels, facing the banks of the stream, might have been statues to adorn the bridge. The captain stood with folded arms, silent, observing the work of his subordinates, but making no sign. Death is a dignitary who when he comes announced is to be received with formal manifestations of respect, even by those most familiar with him. In the code of military etiquette silence and fixity are forms of deference.
The man who was engaged in being hanged was apparently about thirty-five years of age. He was a civilian, if one might judge from his habit, which was that of a planter. His features were good–a straight nose, firm mouth, broad forehead, from which his long, dark hair was combed straight back, falling behind his ears to the collar of his well-fitting frock coat. He wore a mustache and pointed beard, but no whiskers; his eyes were large and dark gray, and had a kindly expression which one would hardly have expected in one whose neck was in the hemp. Evidently this was no vulgar assassin. The liberal military code makes provision for hanging many kinds of persons, and gentlemen are not excluded.
The preparations being complete, the two private soldiers stepped aside and each drew away the plank upon which he had been standing. The sergeant turned to the captain, saluted and placed himself immediately behind that officer, who in turn moved apart one pace. These movements left the condemned man and the sergeant standing on the two ends of the same plank, which spanned three of the cross-ties of the bridge. The end upon which the civilian stood almost, but not quite, reached a fourth. This plank had been held in place by the weight of the captain; it was now held by that of the sergeant. At a signal from the former the latter would step aside, the plank would tilt and the condemned man go down between two ties. The arrangement commended itself to his judgment as simple and effective. His face had not been covered nor his eyes bandaged. He looked a moment at his "unsteadfast footing," then let his gaze wander to the swirling water of the stream racing madly beneath his feet. A piece of dancing driftwood caught his attention and his eyes followed it down the current. How slowly it appeared to move, What a sluggish stream!
He closed his eyes in order to fix his last thoughts upon his wife and children. The water, touched to gold by the early sun, the brooding mists under the banks at some distance down the stream, the fort, the soldiers, the piece of drift–all had distracted him. And now he became conscious of a new disturbance. Striking through the thought of his dear ones was a sound which he could neither ignore nor understand, a sharp, distinct,
